Yelp Rates Rochester Top 100 Restaurants

Text: Yelp Top 100 Places to Eat in Rochester 2016

February 2016

Can you believe 2016 is the first year that Yelp has ever published a Top 100 Restaurants list for Rochester? Sure, we’re a small city, but it doesn’t take newcomers long to discover ourĀ underrated local food scene. These days, you can’t throw a stone without running into a Food Truck Rodeo, Farmer’s Market, or Brewery. We’re grateful that local Yelpers have curated all these establishments into one awesome list. Hopefully it will help gain more visibility for the city that we love!

Eat Local!

If you’ve been heading out of town to enjoy great meals, you might think about staying closer to home this year. Yelp’s list provides a smorgasbord of nearby establishments serving up fresh and interesting culinary creations. The most surprising aspect is how Rochester’s restaurants manage to balance quality with quantity. Not only can you get a great meal — there are enough great establishments to give you fresh new options every time you go out!

Need more ideas?

Nothing new for you on Yelp’s list? You must be a bona fide locavore! Perhaps you can find fresh new options on the food blog at Sir Rocha Says or the Food About Town Podcast. Though Rochester is a relatively small city, the restaurant scene is thriving in a way that’s making other cities take notice. Even the most seasoned local eaters can expect big things from pop-up models and food trucks in the future.

What’s missing?

Yelp can’t know about every hidden gem, can they? Which of your favorite local eateries didn’t make the list? More importantly, which are you willing to tell us about? Please share on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter!
