Here’s what Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren has to say about kids’ summer programs in Flour City.
The City’s Summer Recreation Season offers a host of activities for children to keep their minds sharp and their bodies fit while also experiencing the childhood joys of summer vacation. These programs engage our youth in sports, art, literacy and a variety of positive activities designed to keep their bodies and minds sharp all summer long. Meanwhile, the City’s many parks feature sports fields, playgrounds, picnic areas and rental lodges, making them the perfect place to play or host a family event. City pools and spray parks provide a fun, safe way to learn to swim, join a swim team and beat the heat.~ Mayor Lovely Warren
Flower City Feeling Good
Middle- and high-schoolers aren’t the only ones who need to get out, stretch their legs, and engage with the community. The city’s annual Flower City Feeling Good series offers many opportunities to get fit and be fascinated around Rochester’s neighborhoods and natural areas. Adults can explore nature and the city’s amazing historic parks and neighborhoods by bike, on foot, or in canoes by participating in Tuesday and Thursday Nature Nights, and more! Walks, jogs, and rides are leisurely with slight grade changes, mostly on paths or sidewalks. Find out more by visiting the City of Rochester website or by downloading the Summer Recreation Guide.
