Painting Your Place at Erie Station Village
Do you ever get bored with your surroundings? It happens to the best of us — especially those of us plodding through a snowless winter in Upstate New York! Well, here’s something about living at Erie Station Village that you might not know.
You’re free to paint your place!
Not every Rochester community allows custom painting, but we do. After all, it’s the little things that make all the difference! Just don’t go inviting the youngsters in your life to start creating artwork on your walls just yet. There’s a procedure in place to make sure that every apartment and townhouse is left in equal shape for the next tenants. If you’re ready for a fresh coat of paint, all you have to do is let the leasing office know. They’ll have you sign an addition to your lease known as the Custom Paint Lease Addendum.
An Added Agreement
It sounds like legalese, but the Custom Lease Paint Addendum is just an additional set of agreements that you make about painting your home. There are some requirements and responsibilities, like using latex paint, showing the leasing office what color you’re going to use, and keeping the new color off the ceiling, floor, carpet, and other places it doesn’t belong. Just be sure to read the whole addendum before you sign it and keep a copy so you know what steps to take before you move out.
Painting Requirements
- You have to return the walls to their original color 30 days before the end of your lease.
- You’ll use two coats of paint.
- You’ll pay for the paint and materials.
- You’ll pay for repairs if your painting project somehow causes damage to your residents.
- If you want to use a contractor instead of doing the painting yourself, the contractor has to be approved by Erie Station Village.
That’s about it! When you’re ready to make the change, just contact the leasing office. We’ll be happy to hook you up with a Custom Paint Lease Addendum and get you on your way!
