October 2015

If you or any of your friends have a dog at Erie Station Village or anywhere in Henrietta, you’d be wise to make note of recent changes. The Henrietta Town Clerk’s Office has changed the notification process for yearly dog license renewals. You can read more about the changes in the Fall 2015 issue of the Henrietta Happenings Newsletter.

What to Expect

At the beginning of the month your renewal is due, you can expect to get a postcard reminder in the mail. As long as you renew on time, you’ll be in the clear for the next year. If the town hasn’t received your renewal by the due date, you’ll receive a letter about midway through the month following your due date. This “Final Notice of Delinquent Dog License” gives you 10 days to renew your license. If you still don’t remit your renewal during those 10 days, you will be issued a summons to Henrietta Town Court.

How to Prevent Problems

To avoid problems, be sure your dog is up to date on rabies shots. Your license cannot be renewed if rabies vaccination expires less than 30 days after renewal. Make sure to notify the Town of Henrietta if a dog formerly registered to your household is no longer there. To apply for a new dog license in Henrietta, download and complete the Dog License Application. You’ll find submission instructions within.
