Area Activity Guide: Walnut Hill Farm Driving Competition
July 2015
Well, we’ve certainly got something different for you this week! The Walnut Hill Farm Driving Competition is probably unlike anything you’ve seen or attended this year, and we think it’s going to be a pretty special event. A way to not just take a look back in time, but almost visit a long-past era, the Pittsford Carriage Association brings carriage enthusiasts and competitors together once a year at Walnut Hill Farm for a celebration of traditional driving.
This year, the Competition will be held from August 5th to the 9th, at Walnut Hill Farm in Pittsford, which is less than a 20 minute drive from Erie Station Village. While competition is obviously a part of the event, it also features many chances to study and observe classic carriages. There will be over 250 competitors and exhibitors, with performances running from 8AM until 5PM. Naturally, there will also be era-appropriate vendors, boutiques, and gardens to explore. Please see their very thorough and informative website to find out everything you might need to know. This is an extraordinarily unique event and we urge you not to miss it!
