Area Activity Guide: Upcoming RPO Events
May 2015
One of the many cultural joys of Rochester is our beloved Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Happily, it’s only a quick 20-minute drive from Erie Station Village! So there’s always time to take the jaunt up “the 90s” to see world-class classical music, as well as the RPO’s Pops performances.
This upcoming weekend, the RPO has a very special treat for attendees. The 8th and 9th, the RPO will be working with the Rochester City Ballet to perform Jeff Tyzik’s Images. Tyzik’s piece is a musical tribute to Rochester’s own Memorial Art Gallery, and will feature the world-debut of original accompanying choreography from the RBC. It will be a truly unique experience, and should not be missed. Tickets and info can be found at the RPO website.
Later this month, the RPO will be performing Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony, and stay tuned in June for the world-famous “Carmina Burana!” Go out and explore some incredible music, right around the corner!
