A Story About a Storm

Geva Theatre Center presents The Lake Effect
February 2-19, 2017

It’s been a few years since Rochester has seen a winter storm of noteworthy proportions, but that shouldn’t stop Geva Theatre from telling stories about them. The Lake Effect, a play about family, friendship, and food (and a snow storm), is a relatively new work from Pulitzer-nominated playwright Rajiv Joseph.

Geva’s synopsis is as follows:

During a fierce winter storm, estranged siblings reunite in their family’s restaurant amid pungent memories of tandoors and tikka masala. When a regular customer claims to know more of their family history than they do, Vijay and Priya are forced to consider the future of the business.

The performances will mark Geva debuts for several members of the cast. Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased by calling (585) 232-GEVA (4382) or online at www.gevatheatre.org.
