A Short Stroll for a Great Cause

Did you know that 85,000 kids from all over New York State rely on Golisano Children’s Hospital each year? These little ones come to Rochester from all over to receive lifesaving care, including heart surgery, neurosurgery, treatment of lung disease, cancer, eating disorders, and more. Nearly 800 of the youngest patients receive care in Golisano’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and more than 1,200 sick or premature newborns visit the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Given that Golisano is the region’s only dedicated children’s hospital, that adds up to a vital resource for kids locally and across New York.

Your Opportunity to Give Back

The Stroll for Strong Kids, now in its 21st year, is an annual event which allows friends and families to give back to the hospital that cares for our region’s littlest loved ones. You can show your support by participating in person, taking part in additional fundraising, or making a gift to the area you’re most passionate about. To donate or register, just head over to the Stroll for Strong homepage. You’ll find all the options right there.

The 2017 Stroll for Strong Kids

The 21st annual Stroll for Strong Kids Walk and 5K Run will be held at Genesee Valley Park on June 3rd, 2017, with an underwater themed event.

For lots of attendees, the festival-like atmosphere after the stroll and run is the best part. Family-friendly activities, including bounce houses, music, crafts and more, will continue until 1 p.m. You can connect with friends, neighbors, and caregivers while enjoying custard from Abbotts and other refreshments.

What you Can Expect

  • 1.5-mile family-friendly walk around the park
  • 5K Run on a USATF Certified 5K Course – $30 registration fee to participate ($40 the day of the event)
  • Bounce houses, carnival games & other entertainment for the kids
  • Many fun activities for the entire family
  • Lunch provided for all participants
  • Incentives for additional fundraising

Please note: The Stroll for Strong Kids is truly a meandering stroll where at times we move as one big, happy mass of friends and neighbors. Due to the number of people with little ones, strollers, wheelchairs, and other accommodations, we request that you leave your dogs at home.
