Area Activity Guide: RPO Around the Town
July 2015
There’s something special about listening to beautiful and challenging classical music outside on a warm summer night. If you’ve never tried it, we highly recommend it. And luckily, our beloved Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra seemingly agrees with us, as they’ve begun a month-long program called RPO Around the Town. It’s just what it sounds like – on selected Tuesdays in June and July, the RPO will set up in various locations around Rochester, and play free shows for neighborhoods and visitors!
The shows began on June 30th, but you still have two more chances to catch the RPO Around the Town! On July 14th, they’ll be setting up on the Franklin High School Campus (on Hendrix Road) and then a week later, they’ll be in Susan B. Anthony Square (on King Street), both an easy 20 minute drive from Erie Station Village. You’re encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets on which to enjoy the performances, which will run from 6:30 to 7:30. You can get more information, as well as see the rest of the RPO’s summer schedule, here. We hope you’ll catch the RPO around town!
