Take a Stroll Downtown.

Well, if you want to be in the running to win the Rochester Venture Adventure, you’ll have to take more of a brisk walk or trot. Now in its second year, this event offers a little bit of everything while giving participants a peek at the Downtown Innovation Zone. It’s part scavenger hunt, part race, part puzzle, and full of fun and surprises. There are tons of prizes from local vendors up for grabs, and the day ends with an after-party at a top-secret location (don’t worry — all participants get filled in on the secret).

Here’s How It Works.

To take part in Rochester Venture Adventure, you’ll want to assemble a team of up to 4 friends. You’ll each purchase a $15 ticket here, and that price includes the matching t-shirts that will keep your team together and act as your ticket to the day’s festivities. Organizers and participants will convene Saturday, September 10th at St. Joseph’s Park, where check-in starts at 3:00pm and the race begins at 3:30. On the word “go,” each team will open its envelope of clues to the race’s hidden checkpoints. Just figure out all the checkpoints, visit them, complete an activity at each location, and race to the finish line! Unless you’ve got a photographic memory of downtown Rochester (including future destinations), you might want to bring a backup charge for your smartphone.

Everybody Wins!

More than $1,000 worth of prizes from amazing local vendors will be awarded to the quickest and most creative teams that complete the scavenger hunt. For everyone else, there will be beer, food, music, and access to a not-usually-accessible area in development (at least that was the case last year). The afterparty goes from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the last location, but you must participate in the scavenger hunt to find out where the party is (and to get in).
