If you’ve never been to a Roller Derby bout, you’re missing out on an exciting women’s sport. Here in Henrietta, we’re lucky to have Roc City Roller Derby hosting its home events just down the road at the Dome Arena. Our local not-for-profit amateur league empowers members to develop as athletes, leaders, and good sportswomen. It also puts on an amazing show. When these ladies hit the track, it’s a mesmerizing display of athleticism, competitiveness, and pure grit. It’s not unusual to see skaters go flying, as derby is a hotly contested contact sport on wheels.
