Bona-Fide Baseball Action

With the beautiful Finger Lakes, Great Lakes, festivals, museums, and incredible wine country all around, “sports town” might not even fall within the top-10 descriptors of the fair city of Rochester, New York. That makes for a pleasant surprise when newcomers find out about the Rhinos, Knighthawks, Americans, and RazorSharks. Another local treasure can be found at Frontier Field all summer — Rochester Red Wings Baseball. With all the excitement of professional baseball and none of the pretense, our local Triple-A Minnesota Twins affiliate hammers them home for a very appreciative hometown crowd.

Rochester Red Wings Opening Day 2016

The 20th season at Frontier Field gets underway with a matinee against the Scranton/WB RailRiders at 4:05 pm on Saturday, April 9th. Opening-day promotions include a 2016 magnet schedule giveaway to the first 7,500 fans through the gate, and a 50-Degree Guarantee. If thermometers stay below 50 degrees, all fans with a ticket to Opening Day can redeem that ticket for a FREE ticket to any home game in April or May!

That’s just the beginning.

Regardless of whether you’re able to attend on opening day, the fun extends far beyond the April 9th home opener. You can plan out your summer schedule based on the Red Wings’ Promotion Schedule, which features fireworks, concerts, and bobbleheads. If you need an excuse to take yourself out to the ballgame, refer to this handy list of 72 ways to use Wings tickets. And if you find yourself becoming a die-hard Wings fan, you can meet and get autographs from different Red Wings before every home game on the Main Concourse. The Pre-Game Autograph Booth is presented by Hillside Family of Agencies from 6:25 pm-6:45 pm prior to 7:05 pm games; 5:25-5:45 p.m. prior to 6:05 games; and 12:55 pm-1:15 pm prior to 1:35 pm games.
