Area Activity Guide: Park Ave Fest 2019
Next weekend is Rochester’s “most dazzling summer festival!” The Park Avenue Summer Art festival is back for its 43rd year. Spanning Park Avenue from the west end at Alexander Street to Culver Road, the festival is more than a mile of viewing, socializing, eating, and shopping.
Some highlights of the festival include three entertainment stages featuring musicians, dancers, and performers from opening to close both days of the festival. There is also a juried art show with 13 different categories. And don’t forget the food. More than 40 different festival favorites and specialties attend the festival, adding to the bistros, cafes, bakeries, and coffee houses that already make the Park Avenue neighborhood great.
The Park Avenue neighborhood is renowned for its architecture, culture, and urban atmosphere. It’s a perfect backdrop for the 350+ artists, crafts people and exhibitors from the United States and Canada who transform it into a one-of-a-kind shopping experience each year.
The 43rd Park Avenue Arts Festival takes place Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4, opening at 10am each day. On Saturday the festival closes at 6pm; it closes at 5pm on Sunday. It’s free to enjoy the sights at this alcohol- free, family friendly event. Use the ample parking area at Gleason Works on University and enjoy the free shuttle service. If you are looking for a particular artisan or vendor, the Park Avenue Festival page at the Rochester events website offers a complete listing of exhibiting artists and where to find them.
