A World-Class Balloon Fest

This Labor Day weekend, you can find family fun from dusk to dawn an hour South of Rochester in Dansville, New York. The Dansville Municipal Airport will welcome about 35,000 visitors to the 35th Annual New York State Festival of Balloons. The all-volunteer festival will fill the skies with the dozens of beautiful hot air balloons all weekend long. If balloons aren’t your forte, come along for the ride. There will be diverse concessions and continuous entertainment for high flyers and acrophobes alike.

Touch the Sky

If you’re ready to take your sense of adventure to new heights, you can purchase a ride during the festival at the Ride Tent for just $200. Those who’d like to stay closer to the ground can board a tethered balloon Friday through Sunday for just $15 ($10 for kids under 12). Big balloons might be the main attraction, but there’s something for everyone at the New York State Festival of Balloons. The event was created to provide enjoyment to attendees, bring visitors to the community, and raise funds for local charities and organizations. About 35,000 spectators are expected to visit the valley in this Labor Day Weekend. If you’re among them, be sure to thank the volunteers you meet, as this amazing event is organized and staffed solely by the generous members of our community.
