Area Activity Guide: Monroe County Fair
July 2016
A Classic County Fair
At Erie Station Village, we understand the importance of community. The mission of the Monroe County Fair and Recreation Association is to “build community through the advancement, affirmation, and support of youth, agriculture, and technology,” and the annual Monroe County Fair is the culmination of its hard work. This year’s fair, August 4th through 7th, is the perfect time to get out and see what’s been blossoming (sometimes literally) in our community.

Hello, Northampton Park!
We hope that you’ve been enjoying the beautiful outdoor common areas at Erie Station Village this summer, but our grounds are just the tip of the iceberg. Our city and region feature some of the most incredible outdoor resources in the country! One of the many exciting things about the Monroe County Fair is that it creates an opportunity for people living throughout the greater Rochester area to explore the almost-1,000-acre Northampton Park! Never heard of it? That’s a shame! This Monroe County Park to the west of the city of Rochester is chock full of recreational resources.
Activities at Northampton Park include:
- hiking, bridle & cross-country skiing trails
- fishing
- soccer fields
- geo-caching with 24+ local caches
- model airplane flying field
- playground equipment
- creek access
In the winter, the park hosts snowshoeing, sledding, and downhill skiing in partnership with Swain Ski Center. The park also features plenty of picnic tables for public use, as well as lodges available for rent.
