Area Activity Guide: Make Music Rochester
June 2017
Celebrate the Summer Solstice!
After 35 years, Make Music has made its way from its birthplace in France all the way to Rochester, New York. This day of FREE music was created to celebrate the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice. Now Rochester will join more than 750 cities in 120 countries in this worldwide serenade to summer.
Witness Rochester’s First Make Music
In 2016, 38 North American cities hosted 3,238 free concerts at 1,078 locations…all on a single day! 2017 marks Rochester’s Make Music debut, thanks in large part to the Community Design Center of Rochester. On Wednesday, June 21st, watch for bands, buskers, and jam sessions throughout the city from noon until 9 pm. Expect the unexpected, because anything goes at this jubilee of “music by anyone, for everyone.”
