Area Activity Guide: Imagine RIT Innovation & Creativity Festival
April 2016
What’s Happening at RIT?
Just a few miles down the road from Erie Station Village is the oft-recognized hub of innovation known as the Rochester Institute of Technology. RIT has been called one of the world’s best universities, and it’s in keeping with Rochester’s history of innovation that it should be found here. Big ideas, big projects, and big progress are made at the private research university, and the Imagine RIT Innovation & Creativity Festival is an opportunity for members of the public to get a glimpse inside.
Free and open to the public.
Are you itching for Rochester’s festival season to begin? On May 7th from 10 am to 5 pm, RIT’s Henrietta campus will be transformed by more than 400 exhibits. Visitors will have the chance to explore hands-on technology, medical devices, creative arts and groundbreaking research. Entry and interaction with exhibits is free, but it will be wise to bring some cash for snacks to fuel your exploration. There will also be live music and entertainment for all ages. Visitors can park for free on the RIT campus on a first-come, first-served basis. Once RIT lots are full, volunteers will direct all visitors to MCC, where a free shuttle-bus service will provide transportation back to RIT.
