July 2015

Last week, we told you all about the RPO Around the Town, in which the RPO travels all over the city playing free shows in various neighborhoods. We liked the idea so much that we wanted to keep that same kind of idea going this week, so we wanted to let you know about Hochstein at High Falls. These events are especially great for those of you who might work downtown and want to get out of the stuffy old office for lunch.

On Thursdays in July and August (until August 13th), The Hochstein School of Music and Dance, along with WXXI, are teaming up to present a series of free, lunchtime performances in the High Falls area (a mere 20 minute drive from Erie Station Village for you residents who may not be working at that time). The concerts will feature a number of genres, including jazz, blues, world percussion, Latin, and a whole lot more! Each performance will begin at 12:10 PM and last 50 minutes, meaning you’ll be able to get back to work in plenty of time, or wherever else you may be headed. Hochstein’s website has more information if you want it. So bring a lunch and a lawnchair and enjoy the best lunchbreak you’ll have all week!
