Have a Happy Halloween!

The Rochester area is a flurry of activity at the end of October. There are more family-friendly events than one family could ever attend! Whether you want to celebrate with a date at the MAG or do a trick-or-treat tour of local farms, we’ve got you covered. For a full array of adult-oriented entertainment, check out City Newspaper’s events calendar. To see even more options for kids, visit KidsOutandAbout.com.

Museum of the Dead: Alive Again

Admission: $15
Location: The MAG
Ages: 21+ with valid ID

What’s lurking in the museum? Find out during a night of art, music, and dancing at Museum of the Dead inside the Memorial Art Gallery. Creative types can enjoy interactive art projects, passages from Edgar Allen Poe, and tarot readings. There will be food, wine, and beer for sale, plus tastings from Tommyrotter Distillery. Great costumes and a little luck could snag you some swag from the MAG, The Little Theatre, Salena’s, Nox, Urban Decay Cosmetics, and more.

Tails & Treats at Lollypop Farm

Saturday, October 29 from 2 to 4:30 pm
Lollypop Farm at 99 Victor Road in Airport
Admission: $10 per child at the door
Ages: 2 to 12

Lollypop Farm is a nurturing place where cats, dogs, rabbits, small pets, birds, horses, pigs, and other farm animals wait for a new home. Tails & Treats is a great opportunity for the whole family to see the animals and explore the farm. Everyone should come in their favorite costumes. For the kids, there will be trick-or-treating around the farm, spooky animal facts, ghoulish games, and Halloween crafts — and, of course, prizes! Fall treats and drinks will be available for purchase. For those interested in adopting a furry new family member, October is Adopt-a-Dog month! Proceeds benefit Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
