Genesee River Romance Weekend:
October 6th-9th, 2016

The exciting news is that here’s a huge celebration of Rochester’s favorite river this weekend. The bittersweet part is that it’s all about the beauty and majesty of the Genesee River during the peak autumn foliage season. Wasn’t it still summer last weekend?

Genesee River Romance weekend celebrates the beauty and majesty of the Genesee River and its surrounding trail and gorge system. Without the river, after all, there would be no city! Come outside and enjoy activities for all ages along the banks of the river.

The weekend includes over 40 separate events, including historic walking tours, bicycle treks, boat rides and races, nature walks, concerts, kid stuff, and workshops. There will be everything from buskers to ice skating, and there’s even a chance for lifelong romantics to renew their wedding vows! Click here to view the full event schedule.

Genesee River Bash:
Thursday, October 6th, 2016 at 5:30 pm

Every great community festival deserves a celebratory kickoff event! Jump-start your River Romance weekend with the Genesee River Bash at the Port of Rochester Terminal Building. This party thrown by Genesee RiverWatch will feature beer, BBQ, and bluegrass! There will also be awards, networking, and river/outdoors-focused exhibits. Proceeds benefit Genesee RiverWatch, an organization devoted to improving water quality and connecting people to the river.
