Concerts on the Canal
For one weekend each August, the Erie Canal in Fairport becomes music central for the Rochester region. Show up for a good cause at the Fairport Music Festival, where 40 bands will be performing over two days to benefit Golisano Children Hospital. Over the years (since 2005), the festival has raised more than $1.3M! Everyone involved in producing the event does so on a volunteer basis.
In addition to the music, which includes Jumbo Shrimp, Adam Ezra Group, The Tommy Brunett Band, and dozens of other performers, there will be great food! Twenty-two Fairport-area restaurants will be selling samples of their signature dishes AND beer gardens providing beer and wine will be set up near all three stage areas.
Friday, August 24 from 5 to 10 pm & Saturday, August 25 from Noon to 10 pm!
All About the Kids
You’d expect kids’ programming at an event benefiting a children’s hospital, right? FMF delivers. There will be plenty for the kids to do with free activities from noon to 5:30 each day. And children 12 and under always get in free!
