July 2016

We all know Rochester as Festival City and Flower City, but if our local free music scene were as abundant year-round as it is in the summer, we’d be known as Free Music City as well.

Free Concerts at Rochester Public Market

We’ve already told you about the Henrietta Summer Concert Series and Wegmans Concerts by the Shore, and we’re about to add yet another series to the list. Bands on the Bricks makes use of the Rochester Public Market’s event-friendly grounds to showcase free music. Every Friday night July 8th through August 5th, a different band (or two) will take the stage at 6 pm. These acts are eclectic, bringing every style of music to the masses, including rock, psychedelic pop, gospel, zydeco, reggae, hip-hop, latin, and rhythm & blues.

The Fine Print

Bands on the Bricks is free, but as usual, there are some ground rules. Gates open at 5:30 pm for each show. Attendees are welcome to bring folding chairs and one sealed bottle of water per person. No pets, drones, bikes, skateboards, or in-line skates are permitted inside the gate. Smoking is prohibited in and under the Public Market sheds.
