Area Activity Guide: A Christmas Carol at Geva

Ebineezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim

December 2016

Geva Theatre is one of Rochester’s incredible cultural treasures. If you’ve never been, the perfect time to experience Geva doubles as a cherished family holiday tradition. The magic of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol comes to life on the stage with beautiful music and skillful production in the weeks leading up to Christmas. It’s a meaningful tale of redemption, forgiveness, and hope at a time of year that’s ideal for reflection. Kids of all ages (5+) will find it heartwarming and inspiring.

While toddlers aren’t allowed in the theater, parents will find an opportunity to introduce older siblings to musical theater. A preview of Mickey’s Christmas Carol or another film version can act as a primer an help younger theatergoers appreciate the performance. The classic tale is particularly accessible, and tickets for kids at Geva are half price!
