Area Activity Guide: Park Ave Summer Art Fest
July 2016
Park Avenue’s 40th Annual Summer Art Fest
In a calendar packed with nationally and internationally renowned festivals, it can hard to stand out. The Park Ave Summer Art Fest, however, manages to do just that year after year. Drawing more than 350 artists from across the United States and Canada, this early-August festival is among Rochester’s most highly anticipated annual events. 2016 marks four decades of both artists and art lovers (250,000 are expected!) flocking to the Flower City for this unparalleled art exhibition.
A Shopping Extravaganza
Park Avenue is one of Rochester’s best shopping destinations all year long, but Park Ave Fest takes the neighborhood to new heights. Among the beautiful sights and sounds of Park Avenue, these exhibitors will display their handmade creations, offer one-of-a-kind items for sale, and even chat with visitors about their work. Park Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between Alexander Street and Culver Road to make way for an expansive plaza lined with vendors. The resulting open-air mall is a delight for art collectors and utilitarian shoppers alike. There’s no better place to start your Christmas shopping!
So much to love!
You can’t have a Rochester festival without an eclectic blend of attractions. Park Ave Fest is no different from other local festivals in that it’s an extravaganza of food, entertainment, and something for everyone. The free event includes dozens of musical performances and a variety of activities for all ages.
