Area Activity Guide: Cafe Veritas

December 2018

Great Music Close to Home

The name “Café Veritas” has a ring of truth to it; don’t you agree? Well, if you’re a fan of folk or Americana music and love a live performance, this monthly concert series is truly something you should know about. While you’re likely familiar with The Folkus Project in Syracuse and the Turtle Hill Folk Festival, the shows taking place at the First Unitarian Church of Rochester on Winton Road South tend to fly under the radar. Café Veritas creates a monthly acoustic venue for the Contemporary Singer-Songwriter genre and is made possible by volunteers who love folk music and want to see more of it here in Rochester. At just $18 for general admission, these concerts provide the type of intimate musical experience that lovers of folk and Americana crave, featuring both local and national acts. Check out this year’s lineup for old favorites or to find new musicians you’ll surely want to get to know better. Where else can you go in Rochester for coffee, great music, and new connections with people who have really good taste in music?

All Café Veritas shows start at 7:30, with doors opening at 7. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Students with ID get in for $10, and kids under 12 enjoy free admission.
