Area Activity Guide: Kicking Hunger 5K

June 2018

Rush-Henrietta’s Inaugural Kicking Hunger 5K!

Henrietta has a new race! The Rush-Henrietta Rotary Club, in conjunction with the Rush-Henrietta Area Food Terminal (RHAFT) and the Town of Henrietta Recreation Department, invite you to participate in the inaugural Kicking Hunger 5K Run/Walk in Henrietta, NY. The race will take place on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 at and around Veterans Memorial Park and the Town of Henrietta Recreation Center. After the race, there will be a raffle with prizes supplied by great local businesses, and all race participants will be included! Registration, parking information, a course map, and more are available at RunSignup.com. The race also has its own Facebook page. If you make a better cheerleader than a runner, power on the participants with encouraging signs and cheers! The best area for spectator viewing will be around the entrance to Veterans Memorial Park. Anyone who secures a spot there will be able to see the runners three times with minimal movement. Be sure to be in place before the start of the race at 8:00 am sharp.

Running for a Reason

Rush-Henrietta’s Kicking Hunger 5K will raise awareness to the issue of hunger and provides tangible solutions. It also aims to promote exercise and family-centered events in our town. 100% of proceeds from the race will go towards the Kicking Hunger Program and RHAFT to help meet the needs of local families. For the last two years, the Rush-Henrietta Kicking Hunger Summer Food campaign has been supplying free food to community families over the summer months, while RHAFT has served as the community’s emergency food cupboard since 1979.
