Area Activity Guide: Imagination Destination

March 2018

Inspiration at Play

There’s a brand-new permanent exhibit opening at the Strong Museum of Play the weekend of March 10th and 11th, and it’s the stuff of dreams. Imagination Destination is packed with physical play opportunities that will help kids visualize future pursuits and set their imaginations soaring. The brightly colored, inviting space will challenge kids while it entertains them with settings like a helicopter, a construction site, a rocket ship, a dance studio, and a theater. Engaging experiences include donning a construction worker’s vest to inspect the city pipes, soaring to the moon in a rocket ship, climbing into a cockpit to pilot a rescue helicopter, performing on the theater stage, and helping to build a house. Little ones who visit Imagination Destination are sure to come away with insightful answers to the age-old question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Opening Weekend

Saturday and Sunday, March 10th and 11th, kids will encounter even more out-of-this-world experiences! Moonwalk with an astronaut, build with a skilled construction worker, and meet a whimsical woodland fairy on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Museum members can get a sneak peek of the exhibit before it opens to the general public at special one-hour, members-only previews beginning at 9 am on March 10th and 11 am on March 11th. Photo ops will abound!
